What are Implants?
Implants have 3 parts and are used to replace either one or several teeth, and can be used to hold dentures.
Implants are usually placed by a periodontist or an oral surgeon and are then restored with crowns by the general dentist. Both parties will be collaborating closely to ensure a successful outcome.
It usually takes about 3 months of healing time following an implant placement prior to having a crown placed.
Once implants are functional, it is important to take good care of them by brushing and flossing regularly just like for natural teeth.
